Understanding <i>dominance</i> : The effect of changing the definition of <i>dominance</i> when using <scp>TDS</scp> with consumers

Temporal dominance of sensations (TDS) is a widely used method to assess dynamic sensory perception. While TDS has been studied more extensively with trained panels, there growing interest in testing the consumers. However, little known about how consumers interpret notion “dominance” decide which attribute they should select at given point time. This study investigated effect changing definition on results. Consumers, all who had never undertaken test before, were recruited three separate groups where briefly was defined as either: (a) most attention-catching sensation (TDS session), (b) intense (TIS or (c) (TCS session).
